Muzea sztuki to coś, co lubię. Tak jakoś po prostu. Relikty przeszłości i pyłki teraźniejszości zebrane w jednym miejscu, skatalogowane, zaaranżowane.
Museums of Art are something I just like, with no particular reason. Relict of past and pollen of present are gathered in one place - catalogued and arranged. 

Co mnie w amerykańskich muzeach zadziwia, to światło - piękne, dzienne światło, wielgachne okna. Przestrzeń i harmonia, jakaś taka sterylność nawet. Mają zupełnie inny charakter niż te polskie pełne barokowego miszmaszu, trochę zagracone takie. Może to tylko atmosfera budynków, a może moje złudne wrażenie.
What amazes me the most in American museums is the tight - beautiful, soft daylight getting inside through huge windows. It gives you that impression of space and harmony, maybe even sterility. They have completely different atmosphere than complete, Baroque mishmash of Polish cluttered museums. Maybe thats the impression created by the buildings museums are in, or maybe that's just how I feel about it.

Do muzeum wybrałam się na poły spontanicznie, z Anką, która się już tu przewijała, i Nadią, która przyjechała do niej w odwiedziny z Nowego Jorku. Wszystko to zdarzyło się w starym roku, jeszcze przed świętami  w niedzielę. A potem dla mnie wszystko przyspieszyło i... trochę byłam ograniczona z internetem i wolnym czasem na pisanie, przez wycieczkę do NYC i przez konkurs biżuteryjny, na który naszyjnik wykańczałam.
I went to the Museum of Art half spontaneously, with Ania whom I mentioned here before, and Nadia who came from New York to visit her. All of this happened in the old year, on Sunday before Christmas. Then everything speeded up for me, my time and Internet connection were a little bit limited by my adventure in NYC and jewelry contest for which I had to finish a necklace.

Widzicie o czym mówię? Wydaje się, że idealne dni na wizyty w muzeach to te pochmurne, deszczowe, z rozproszonym światłem, które nie daje tak zbrodniczych cieni i jest zdecydowanie łatwiejsze do opanowania. 
Do you see what I meant talking about the light? Perfect days for visiting museums are those with cloudy, gray skies, without strong sun which gives murderous shadows and it's not that easy to control. 

Nie jestem też fanką sztuki współczesnej (chociaż im starsza się robię, tym bardziej ją doceniam), ale tym razem przyznam, że oddałam się kontemplacji z niejaką przyjemnością.
I'm not a big fan of contemporary art (although older I get, I do appreciate it better), but I must admit this time I let myself to contemplate it with pleasure.

This painting I found unbelievably cute and charming. (:

A w tych było coś smutnego, mrocznego. Szczególnie ten malutki po lewej.
Here I found something deeply sad, dark. Especially in the tiny painting on the left.

Ach. Rzeźby. Te dostojne, chłodne, niewzruszone postaci.
Ahhh. Sculptures. Cold, marbled peple. 

Ale zdecydowanie najpiękniejsze w muzeach jest obserwowanie ludzi pogrążonych w kontemplacji sztuki.
But the most beautiful thing in museums is to observe the people immersed in contemplation of the art.

Albo zabawa ze sztuką.
Or playing with the art.

A czasem nawet muzeum jest jak jedno wielkie chińskie ciasteczko z wróżbą...
Sometimes you even discover that a museum is like one big fortune cookie...

I osobiście bardzo oczarowana byłam wystawą fotografii, mocnych, poruszających w jakiś sposób. To były takie zdjęcia, jakie sama chciałabym robić - niepokojące, pozostawiające jakiś ślad w pamięci.
Personally, I was mesmerised by the exhibit of photography - all strong and moving in some way. Those were the pictures I'd like to be able to take one day - disturbing, leaving a trace in memory.

Bo muzeum miało wi-fi, więc po prostu musiałyśmy oznajmić całemu światu na Instagramie, że tu jesteśmy :D
Because the Museum had free wi-fi we just had to announce to the whole world on Instagram where we are :D

A tu Ania siedzi na czymś, na czym nie byłam pewna czy można usiąść, bo to ławka czy sztuka?... Googlamy za jedzonkiem i przesyłamy zdjęcia (:
And here Ania sits on something what I wasn't sure whether it's a part of exhibit or something where you are allowed to sit. Is it a bench or an art? We;re googling for food and sending the pictures (:

A ten budynek szczególnie zwrócił moją uwagę. Prawda, że wygląda przedziwnie w otoczeniu tych wieżowców? Jakby ktoś się pomylił, przeoczył, zapomniał. Taki kwiatek w chodnikowej szczelinie.
This particular building got my attention. It looks so peculiar, hidden between those skyscrapers, doesn't it? Like somebody just missed it, like a flower growing in a crack in a pavement.

I pycha jedzonko, podobno z brokułami, których jakoś nie mogłam się dopatrzeć w mojej misce :D
Finally yummy food, I had heard with broccoli, but I couldn't find them in my bowl :D

Ach. Czas wracać.
Ah. And there's time to go back home.

Tak w ogóle to cześć w nowym roku. Planuję tu spamować z notkami i zdjęciami. Trochę się ich nazbierało przez te dwa tygodnie. (:
